About Pasanauri
A village on the Georgian Military Highway where the White and Black Aragvi rivers meet, about 20 km above Ananuri. It is the base for rafting on the White Aragvi and a traditional lunch stop, known across Georgia for its khinkali.
Travel Tips
The usual raft run is Pasanauri to Meneso, about 12 km: 25-40 min on the water in May-June, 40-60 min from July. Use a licensed operator with helmet, life jacket and wetsuit (the water is 5-10 °C in spring). Non-swimmers should not raft in May-June.

Kazbegi Adventure Weekend: Rafting, Hiking & Paragliding — 3 Days, Private
Three active days on one mountain road north of Tbilisi. Day one: rafting the White Aragvi at Pasanauri with a licensed crew, a stop at Ananuri, and the first paragliding slot at Gudauri if the wind allows. Day two: a guided hike in the Juta valley (July–September) or the Truso valley (May–June and September), reached by local 4x4. Day three: Gergeti Trinity at sunrise and a tandem paragliding flight at Gudauri with a licensed pilot before the drive back. Flights depend on the weather, so there are two slots; if neither flies we refund the flight. We never plan the flight for the day before your international departure. Two nights in Stepantsminda are included. This is soft adventure: no experience needed, but insurance must cover rafting and paragliding.
White Aragvi Rafting & Ananuri Fortress — Private Day Trip from Tbilisi
Raft the White Aragvi at Pasanauri, about 90 km north of Tbilisi on the Military Highway, with a licensed local rafting company, and stop at Ananuri fortress on the way. The run from Pasanauri to Meneso is about 12 km. In May and June the river runs high (grade III, 25–40 minutes on the water) and suits confident adults who can swim. From July it drops to grade II (40–60 minutes) and suits families with children from about 7. The rafting company provides a skipper, raft, helmet, life jacket and wetsuit. After a khinkali lunch in Pasanauri you can add a tandem paragliding flight at Gudauri if the wind allows. About 9 hours door to door; your travel insurance must cover rafting.
