Cookie Policy

1. What we use

Cookies and browser storage are small pieces of data a website keeps on your device. Below is everything geotour.ge sets, grouped by whether it needs your consent. How we use the data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. Necessary (no consent needed)

Set by our site so it works and remembers your choices.

  • gt_consent: Remembers your cookie choices. Lasts: 180 days.
  • NEXT_LOCALE: Remembers the language you chose. Lasts: 1 year.
  • sb-…-auth-token (browser storage): Keeps you signed in, if you have an account (Supabase). Lasts: Until you sign out.
  • theme-store (browser storage): Remembers light/dark mode. Lasts: Until you clear site data.
  • geotour-distance-cache (browser storage): Stores driving distances between destinations so the tour planner loads faster. No personal data. Lasts: Until you clear site data.
  • mt-ref, mt-clinic (session storage): On medical travel pages, a reference number for your enquiry and the clinic you were viewing. Lasts: Until you close the tab.

3. Ad attribution (set without asking)

Set by our server only when you arrive from a link with campaign parameters, such as one of our ads. Page scripts cannot read it and it is not sent to ad platforms; we store it with any request you send us, to learn which ads bring enquiries.

  • gt_attr: Campaign parameters (utm_*, fbclid, gclid), the landing page, referring website and time of the visit. Lasts: 90 days.

4. Analytics (only with your consent)

Google Analytics loads on every page in Consent Mode, but sets no cookies until you allow analytics. Clarity and Hotjar load only after you allow analytics and never on medical travel pages.

  • _ga, _ga_*: Google Analytics: counts visits and how the site is used. Lasts: 2 years.
  • _clck, _clsk: Microsoft Clarity: session recording and heatmaps. Lasts: 1 year; 1 day.
  • _hjSessionUser_*, _hjSession_*: Hotjar: session recording and heatmaps. Lasts: 1 year; 30 minutes.

5. Marketing (only with your consent)

Set only after you allow marketing, and the Meta Pixel never runs on medical travel pages. Marketing consent also lets Google use its advertising storage.

  • _fbp: Meta Pixel: recognises your browser to measure our ads. Lasts: 90 days.
  • _fbc: Meta Pixel: remembers the Meta ad you clicked. Lasts: 90 days.

6. Changing your choice

On your first visit a banner lets you accept all, allow only necessary cookies, or choose. To change your choice later, use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page; withdrawing consent reloads the page so the scripts you turned off stop. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
