About Gyumri
Armenia's second city, with a historic Kumayri district of 19th-century black and red tuff houses, churches and craft workshops. Much of the city was destroyed in the 1988 Spitak earthquake, and its recovery is part of its story.

Georgia & Armenia in 12 Days — Private Tour
Two countries by private car: seven days in Georgia and five in Armenia. The Georgian week covers Tbilisi and Mtskheta, Kakheti's wine country with Sighnaghi, Telavi, Alaverdi and Ikalto, a night in Kazbegi, Uplistsikhe, Borjomi and the Vardzia cave monastery. On day eight you cross into Armenia at the Ninotsminda–Bavra border to Gyumri; your Georgian driver-guide hands over at the border to our Armenian partner's licensed guide and vehicle, the market norm for this route. In Armenia you see Yerevan, the 1st-century temple of Garni (rebuilt in the 1970s from its original stones), Geghard, Lake Sevan, Etchmiadzin (reopened in 2024 after restoration), Khor Virap under Mt Ararat and Noravank. The tour ends in Yerevan. Hotels, breakfasts, three dinners, a tasting and the listed entrance fees are included; part of Vardzia has been closed since May 2026.
