About this trip

The Czech Republic lies at the very heart of Europe, in a basin ringed by border mountains. Bordering Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia and a member of the European Union since 2004, it unites the historic regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Its largest river is the Vltava, and its highest point is Mount Sněžka at 1,602 m.

Here you will find every architectural style, expressed in historic towns, fortresses and castles, in church architecture and remarkable museum and gallery collections. The best-known sights — the historic centre of Prague, Kutná Hora, Český Krumlov, Telč, the Lednice–Valtice complex, Kroměříž and Holašovice — are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The border mountains are favourites for summer tourism and winter sports, while the pond-dotted scenery of South Bohemia invites long, romantic walks. With friendly, hospitable people, the country offers ideal conditions for relaxation, sport and sightseeing, as well as congresses, seminars and business meetings.
