About this trip
Royal Caribbean International, founded in 1969, was the first cruise line to base its fleet on year-round Caribbean sailings. A well-chosen market and outstanding ships quickly made it one of the most successful companies in the industry, and as it grew it expanded into new regions — today it offers cruises in Alaska, Europe and Southeast Asia as well. Whatever the region, a Royal Caribbean ship is effectively a floating five-star hotel and entertainment complex with everything needed for a luxurious holiday.
The line's signature is its fleet of megaliners — floating cities that offer their guests some of the most spectacular entertainment afloat. The modern series began in 1995 with Legend of the Seas, and a new superliner has followed almost every year since. In 1997 Royal Caribbean acquired Celebrity Cruises, which it still operates as a separate brand, and the company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Today it ranks among the largest cruise lines in the world, with one of the youngest, biggest and most modern fleets — around 20 ships.
Its newest ships offer experiences found nowhere else at sea: a real ice-skating rink, a roller-blading track, a rock-climbing wall, sports courts, golf and billiards, plus dazzling theatre shows — alongside some of the largest cabins in the industry and fine dining with daily-changing gourmet menus.
