Day 1
Arrival in Tbilisi, accommodation at the hotel. Tour over the old city of Tbilisi, which stretches along the Mtkvari river within the medieval walls and citadels. Visit Sameba Cathedral the tallest Church in the Caucasus. Fortress Narikala (4th century), Church Metechi (13th century) and the statue to Vakhtang Gorgasali the powerful king of the 5th century who founded Tbilisi as a capital of Georgia; sulfur baths renowned with their curative quality for centuries. Tbilisi overnight.

Day 2
Kaheti. Trip to Kaheti - the capital of Georgian wine.
Drive to Signagi - medieval fortified town picturesquely situated on the mountain with the old houses, narrow tortuous streets and old style Balconies
Head for Velistsikhe:
a) Making Georgian bread lavash in Georgian bakery (tone).
b) Tasting of Kahetian wine in the wine-cellar at peasant house.
c) The preparation of barbeque (shashlik) on nature,
d) Georgian polyphonic songs performed by singers in the national costumes,
e) Load is music - accordion and portion drums,
Dinner on nature.Then drive to Bodbe architectural complex from the 18 centuries.
Tbilisi overnight.

Day 3
Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Borjomi - Bakuriani.
Drive to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia situated 20km from Tbilisi. Scientists date the town back to the 7-6 th c. B.C. Here Georgians accepted Christianity in the beginning of the 4th century. The town and its architectural monuments are included in the UNESCO World Heritage. Visit Jvari Monastery (6th c.) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th c.). Continue trip to the south part of Georgia to Borjomi spa. Here we walk in the town park and taste famous mineral waters. Drive to Bakuriani (1800m) ski resort in the lesser Caucasus.
Overnight in Bakuriani.

Day 4
Bakuriani - Vardzia - Baku`riani
Vardzia - cave-town, the unique example of Georgian architecture dating from the XII century. Georgian Renaissance.


Day 5
Bakuriani - Kutaisi.
Kutaisi, dated back to the Argonauts times (13th -12th cc. B.C), was the capital of old Colches and later of Western Georgia. Visit Bagrati cathedral (11th c,) and Gelati monastery, founded in the 12th century by the most famous Georgian King David IV, the Builder. Here he founded an academy and monastery. These sites are included in the UNESCO World Heritage. Overnight in Kutaisi.


Day6
Kutaisi - Zugdidi - Mestia.
Drive to the Greater Caucasus, crossing charming countryside of Upper Svaneti. Reach Latali the first community in Free Svaneti. Overnight in Mestia.


Day 7
Mestia - Kala - Ushguli,
the highest village in Europe, 2200 m above the sea level. Impressive medieval towers and old dwelling houses, panoramic views to Mount Shkhara. Overnight at local family house in Usghuli.


Day 8
Ushguli - Ipari - Mestia. Overnight in Mestia.
See medieval churches covered in unique murals.


Day 9
Mestia - Zugdidi - Kutaisi.
Visit to Grand Palace Museum of the Dadiani family - rulers of this region. Overnight in Kutaisi


Day 1
Kutaisi - Gori & Uplistsikhe - Gudauri.
Drive to Gori, the town is mainly known as birthplace of J. Stalin. Visit to Stalin museum. Drive to Uplistsikhe cave town dated to 7th c. BC. Here we find masterfully carved out chambers that functioned as pagan temples, reception halls, wine-cellars and even a theater. Drive east and then north along Georgian Military Highway till Gudauri ski resort in the Greater Caucasus. Overnight in Gudauri.


Day 11
Gudauri - Kazbegi - Gudauri.
Drive to Kazbegi, 1700m. by crossing the Jvari Pass (2379m) at the Greater Caucasus. Explore the area and walk up to Gergeti Sameba Church, beautifully situated on the hill. Enjoy wonderful views of the Caucasian Mountains, including Mount Kazbek, 5047m, one of the six 5000 m. peaks in the Greater Caucasus. According to the legend, Prometheus was chained on the top of mount Kazbek. Excursion to Dariali Canyon, north from Kazbegi. Drive back and have overnight in Gudauri.


Day 12
Gudauri - Shatili. Drive by 4*4. Ancient part of Georgia; en route enjoy enchanting landscapes with unspoiled nature and renowned with its highly impressive fortified villages. Shatili accommodation in the old house between towers.


Day 13
Shatili - Mutso - Shatili
Trekking to Mutso. Pass the Arghuni River Gorge. Reach Mutso a gorgeous medieval town on the rocky mountain. Overnight in Shatili.


Day 14
Shatili - Ananuri - Tbilisi.
We drive down and join Georgian Military Highway. We visit Ananuri Castle 15-17th century beautiful and amazingly well preserved architectural ensemble. Possible rafting on the Aragvi river.
In the evening we have a farewell dinner in fancy restaurant with folk songs. Overnight in Tbilisi.


Day 15
Departure.
Transfer to the airport. End of the tour.
